WORD OF MOUTH :: FEATURED /OPEN POETRY READINGS

The June 30 edition of WoMC will be our first co-feature presentation, with Bob Ambrose and Mark Bromberg sharing the WoMC stage, both of whom hail from Athens, GA.
Bob Ambrose is an environmental engineer who developed and applied water quality models for 40 years. He retired from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2009. He has been writing poetry since his retirement, and has been active in the Athens Word of Mouth community since January 2011. His poems often explore spirituality as well as scientific knowledge. He posts his meditations on our world of beauty and mystery at his blog-site “Reflections in Poetry.”
Mark Bromberg was born in Elmira, NY in 1952 and graduated from Syracuse in 1975. His career has included long stints as a disc jockey (WRFG-FM, Atlanta, 1977-1991) and film editor (1984-2006). Mark’s poetry and other writings have been published from San Francisco to Lake Wobegon, and since 2008 he has blogged at Bellemeade Books. Additionally, he is a member of the Athens Area Arts Council, where he lives and is active in the Athens Word of Mouth community, administrating their website while also co-editing and recently publishing Word of Mouth: a poetry anthology (Bellemeade Books), which features contributions from 50 poets who have read at the monthly Open Mic gathering at The Globe in Athens, GA since its inception in December 2009.
Word of Mouth Cincinnati, which began in January 2014, is co-hosted by fellow writers Jim Palmarini and Mark Flanigan. It was founded in memory of the late Aralee Strange who, after many years living, writing and producing work in the Cincinnati area, moved to Athens, Georgia where she co-founded Athens Word of Mouth.
WoMC is an intentional arc of both past and future utterance, inspired by our most revered voice, with a nod to her Athens, GA compatriots. Word of Mouth asks poets to Show Up, Mouth Off and Pay Attention.
Admission to Word of Mouth Cincinnati is free. MOTR Pub 1345 Main Street Cincinnati, OH 45202.
